PHILVOCS issues latest volcano bulletin
DOST-PHILVOCS remained alert on activities of volcanoes such as Tall, Bulusan, and Mayon.
Below are the latest updates regarding the volcano bulltein.
TAAL VOLCANO’s seismic network recorded 4 volcanic earthquakes during the past 24 hours. Water temperature increased from 32.8 degrees celcius to 33.8 degrees celcius from field measurements conducted last June 7, 2011.Bubbling activity was observed at the middle portion of the Main Crater Lake. Alert Lvel 2 is still in effect.
ADVISORY: PHILVOCS advises the public that the Main Crater, Daang Kastila Trail and Mt. Tabaro are strictly off-limits. because sudden hazardous stream-driven explosions may occur. The entire volcano Island is a Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ).
BULUSAN VOLCANO’s seismic network recorded two volcanic earthquakes during the past 24 hours. Thick clouds cover the summit. Status remains at Alert Level 1. Entry to the 4km. radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) is strictly prohibited, even entry of aviation pilots.Residents in the NW and SW sectors of volcano are reminded to take precautions against ashfalls.
MAYON VOLCANO’s seismic network recorded two volcanic earthquakes during the past 24 hours. Moderate emission of white steam is observed. Alert Level 1 is in effect over MAyon Volcano. It is recommended that public should not enter the 6km. radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) due to threat of sudden small explosions and rockfalls.
