MMDA segregates lanes on Commonwealth Avenue
On Tuesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will start the segregation of lanes on Commonwealth Avenue, dedicating lanes to motorcycles and other public utility vehicles.
To manage the new system, they are starting to set the fences and road signs on the said avenue which is tagged as killer highway. This is to prevent accident and to accommodate the motorcycle and PUV drivers. As a matter of fact, they are set to impose the 60 kilometer per hour speed limit among motorists.
Report said that 2 right-most lanes will be designated to PUVs, 5 will be for private motorists and 2 for U-Turns.
Commuters should expect the changes along a portion of the Commonwealth main roads up to Batasan Hills starting 4:00am tomorrow.
